jaungads

Gads ir sācies pavisam jauki – pirmās gada dienas naktī nolēmu, ka varētu sevi izaicināt, pati ar sevi norunājot bildēt vismaz vienu filmas kadru dienā. Viss ļoti jauki, pirmie gada kadri sildīja sirdi viens pēc otra. Trešā janvāra pēcpusdienā dienas kadra meklējumos pagriezos pret vecmāmiņas lampu, kura manā istabā gaida rindā, lai taptu atjaunota, nospiedu slēdzi, atvērās kameras aizkariņš un.. neaizvērās. Tā piespiedu kārtā mācos iemīlēt nespēju iemūžināt, un nāk jaunas domas par to, kurš no mums – kamera vai es – valda pār situāciju.

My spontaneous new year’s resolution to shoot at least a frame a day on my film camera failed miserably on January 3rd. As I pointed towards my grandmother’s soon-to-be-reinvented lampshade from my childhood, the shutter curtain stuck open. After having the camera spend a couple of shameful days in the dark of one of my drawers, I took the unfinished film to be developed. I am happy that not a month has passed this year, and I have some lovely memories from 2014 already. And I know that the shutter curtain fail is just my camera trying to show me who’s boss, and that’s alright.
